Hey I got a little problem I could use some help with. There's this nice, little, teenage girl who's never read a book before, so I told her I'd get her one as a surprise gift. But uh, I'm drawin' up a blank. What kinda books do girls even read nowadays?

That's the problem, I didn't actually ask... But judgin' from the way she dressed she looked like she'd be more into something dark.

Then, you've got two options. Go with something pulpish and dark, maybe. A suspensey-thriller kinda thing. Or--and this is a pretty huge or--you could bank on the whole dressing darkly as a front for really just wanting hugs and puppies and go for your classic knight-in-shining-armour story.

A story filled with suspense and thrills? Actually that sounds like a good idea to me! I'd rather give her a book that keeps her on the edge of her seat than one that'd be more suited for a girly-girl.

A murder mystery it is, then. Everyone loves one of those.

A murder mystery? Oooh that could be fun~ I read a couple of those myself back when I was younger and had nothin' better to be doin' with my time.

I'm sure there's some in the library. Or maybe even in the shops? Because then she could actually own it because I'm pretty sure it's the eighth deadly sin not return a book to the library.

Eighth deadly sin? What're 'deadly sin's? Can't say I've ever heard of sins being numbered before...

You know, the big deadlies? Lust, greed, pride, paying full price for shoes. Those ones.

Honestly? I have no idea. I'm not so big on the memorizing stuffy old lists.

Yer world seems to full of strange occasions I've never heard of before... Is Labour Day somethin' you celebrate?

If you call parades and picnics celebrating, then...yeah. It is.

A picnic is only fun when you're alone with a beautiful lady in a nice quiet spot.

Pathetic? Mister, you got cosmically kidnapped into a pre-historic village to be some scientist's guinea pig. That's more on the exciting side of pathetic, if I remember correctly.
