[It's such a lovely day in Luceti that Raven thought it would be quite nice to take the time to cook something new for his fellow housemates. Not out of generosity mind you, more out of sheer boredom since he had no intention of eating it himself. After flicking through the recipe books he had settled on making a refreshing coconut flavoured sorbet.

However, he wasn't expecting coconuts to be this difficult to work with and had no idea how to get it open. After struggling with a knife for twenty minutes he decided that it was going to take more extreme measures to get through it's deceptively furry shell. Using his bow he placed a magic spell into the ground, then jumped back and threw the coconut at it. As a result, the coconut exploded into little pieces and splattered across the front yard, not exactly what he was going for.]

That's it, I give up! [He sighed and scratched his head, he didn't want to waste the nice weather so he needed a new idea. So he decided to grab his journal and ask. Might as well clean up the mess he made too, thinking that maybe he should have just gone to the store to get a hammer instead of being so lazy about it.]

Alright, I'm tryin' ta make a nice summery dessert and I need some suggestions! I'm thinkin' something exotic? Ya know, the kind that screams a nice hot day at the beach? Sorbet, ice cream, parfait, all the stuff I hate eatin' myself and really I don't know all that much about.

[Sheeeeesh. Because obviously saying "could" automatically means "will do for sure". But whatever, he doesn't feel like going in circles when he'd likely end up having to do it himself anyway, so--]

Hold on a sec! [He calls out, almost embarrassed to ask really.] Do ya think you could pick up a little hammer from the smithy too?

[He stops for a moment, then continues on his way, giving a bit of a backhanded wave as he does so.]

Yeah, sure. It's right nearby, anyway.

[He'll even take care of the hammer business first, so smart-asses like Sokka don't make commentary on him carrying around a coconut while he's there |:]

Yay! Thanks a bunch! [Whilst Yuri is gone he'll continue to clean up the mess he made. He'll probably be long finished before you get back.]

[Yep, most likely. So about twenty minutes or so later, Yuri's back with a small hammer and two coconuts. ... Just in case things go wrong when he tries. He really doesn't want to have to go back and forth again.]

[Raven's mess is all cleaned and he's sitting on the porch steps. He didn't expect you to come back actually, but now he feels this may be very entertaining indeed.]

Ok then, without usin' the hammer ya gotta open that thing!

[Then why did he even get it ... Well, whatever. Yuri shrugs, walking past to make his way inside. He's not playing "How The Hell Does This Open" where everyone can see |:]

Fine, I will. Just watch.

[Not that he knows jack about opening coconuts, but he's confident enough that he could figure some way out.]

[Raven smirks and follows, he's interested in seeing the first approach the kid is going to take. It's not as easy as it looks.

~~And I know I tried to open one RL today without a hammer and failed.~~]

[~~Kitchen counter-top corner, man. Never failed me once. I actually never heard of the hammer method before today.~~

Well then, now that Yuri's inside, he sets the bags down on the dining room/kitchen/living room/???? table and takes out one of the coconuts.

He's already feeling that this is going to be a massive pain in the ass. But whatever. Heading into the kitchen and looking around to see what he could possibly use to open this ...]

Raven would usually take a seat for this sort of thing, but he wants to make sure he's got plenty of room to get the fuck out of there if it goes wrong.]

Geez, Raven, it's not like there's some kind of tentacle beast hidden inside of coconuts if you open them wrong. But whatever man whatever.

Regardless! Items to use ... uhhh. Maybe this cleaver ...? That seems appropriate, maybe ...

Well. Time to see if there's some kind of seam or crack or anything in this thing before starting. After all, if Raven tried to blow it up instead, any kind of advantage would be nice.

... So uh, have fun watching Yuri look a coconut over with a cleaver in one hand. I'm sure it's entertaining somehow. Possibly.]

Ya know coconuts tend to roll around a bit. Promise if ya swing that ya won't cut her hand off! If ya do, I'm runnin' fer it, yer gonna be left for dead kid.

Nice to know you'd have my back if I did have some kind of accident ...

[Jerk. Well, whatever. Looking this thing over, it seems like there's one spot that might be considered some kind of "seam" or something, even if it's barely enough of anything to be helpful in any way.

So, he'll just position the cleaver there and just ... slowly press it down.

This is slightly nerve-wracking, thanks to Raven and his "cutting hand off" comment :(]

[Yuri seems to be concentrating incredibly hard on this, to prevent the loss of his hand.

So Raven takes the opportunity to give him some moral support. Namely, by sneaking up behind him and loudly slapping his shoulders.]

[Maybe he was, he found it funny anyway and couldn't help himself. ~~I'm a poor excuse for an adult.~~ He backs off away from Yuri before he decides to swing that cleaver at him.]

It'd just grow back, right?

Go cut off your own hand and tell me!

[Yuri lets out an annoyed sigh before going back to Cleavers VS Coconuts: Round 2.]

But I need two hands ta use a bow... it'd be awkward with just the one.

[Yup...]

[Raven, dammit, cram it already - this is hard enough as it is! Yuri focuses most of his attention on what he's doing, giving a bit of a half-assed "don't really care, old man" response as he does so.]

And here I thought it'd just "grow back".

Well maybe yours would. I dunno about mine.

[He takes a few steps further backwards, trying to create some good distance after his little prank of sorts.]

Just chop it already!

[That makes him stop, moving the cleaver off of the coconut for the moment. Mostly because getting annoyed while trying to cut open something round like this is really not a good combination.]

Geez, would you shut up already? I can't concentrate with you going on in the background!

How rude! Now you've hurt my feelings, oh and such a tragedy too! I was just tryin' ta give ya some re-assurance and confidence before ya cut yer hand off!

[... SIGH. Stupid old man, stupid coconut, stupid cleaver ... ugh. Forget it, he'll find some other method. Using a cleaver in this way isn't any easier with someone being annoying in the background. It'd be fine if it were just a conversation, but guh. Dammit, Raven!

So, he sets the cleaver aside and looks around his immediate area for something else to use. Something less complicated ... hrm.

[He didn't expect the kid to put the cleaver down, ~~he expected him to throw it at raven~~. Oh well, time to talk more because he knows Yuri loves listening to his manly voice.]

Huh? A cleaver would have probably done the job ya know, those things can slice through bone.
