[It's such a lovely day in Luceti that Raven thought it would be quite nice to take the time to cook something new for his fellow housemates. Not out of generosity mind you, more out of sheer boredom since he had no intention of eating it himself. After flicking through the recipe books he had settled on making a refreshing coconut flavoured sorbet.

However, he wasn't expecting coconuts to be this difficult to work with and had no idea how to get it open. After struggling with a knife for twenty minutes he decided that it was going to take more extreme measures to get through it's deceptively furry shell. Using his bow he placed a magic spell into the ground, then jumped back and threw the coconut at it. As a result, the coconut exploded into little pieces and splattered across the front yard, not exactly what he was going for.]

That's it, I give up! [He sighed and scratched his head, he didn't want to waste the nice weather so he needed a new idea. So he decided to grab his journal and ask. Might as well clean up the mess he made too, thinking that maybe he should have just gone to the store to get a hammer instead of being so lazy about it.]

Alright, I'm tryin' ta make a nice summery dessert and I need some suggestions! I'm thinkin' something exotic? Ya know, the kind that screams a nice hot day at the beach? Sorbet, ice cream, parfait, all the stuff I hate eatin' myself and really I don't know all that much about.

And I know I tried to open one RL today without a hammer and failed.]

[Kitchen counter-top corner, man. Never failed me once. I actually never heard of the hammer method before today.

Well then, now that Yuri's inside, he sets the bags down on the dining room/kitchen/living room/???? table and takes out one of the coconuts.

He's already feeling that this is going to be a massive pain in the ass. But whatever. Heading into the kitchen and looking around to see what he could possibly use to open this ...]

Raven would usually take a seat for this sort of thing, but he wants to make sure he's got plenty of room to get the fuck out of there if it goes wrong.]

Geez, Raven, it's not like there's some kind of tentacle beast hidden inside of coconuts if you open them wrong. But whatever man whatever.

Regardless! Items to use ... uhhh. Maybe this cleaver ...? That seems appropriate, maybe ...

Well. Time to see if there's some kind of seam or crack or anything in this thing before starting. After all, if Raven tried to blow it up instead, any kind of advantage would be nice.

... So uh, have fun watching Yuri look a coconut over with a cleaver in one hand. I'm sure it's entertaining somehow. Possibly.]

[Jerk. Well, whatever. Looking this thing over, it seems like there's one spot that might be considered some kind of "seam" or something, even if it's barely enough of anything to be helpful in any way.

So, he'll just position the cleaver there and just ... slowly press it down.

[Yuri seems to be concentrating incredibly hard on this, to prevent the loss of his hand.

So Raven takes the opportunity to give him some moral support. Namely, by sneaking up behind him and loudly slapping his shoulders.]

[Maybe he was, he found it funny anyway and couldn't help himself. I'm a poor excuse for an adult. He backs off away from Yuri before he decides to swing that cleaver at him.]

[Yuri lets out an annoyed sigh before going back to Cleavers VS Coconuts: Round 2.]

[Raven, dammit, cram it already - this is hard enough as it is! Yuri focuses most of his attention on what he's doing, giving a bit of a half-assed "don't really care, old man" response as he does so.]

And here I thought it'd just "grow back".

[He takes a few steps further backwards, trying to create some good distance after his little prank of sorts.]

[That makes him stop, moving the cleaver off of the coconut for the moment. Mostly because getting annoyed while trying to cut open something round like this is really not a good combination.]

Geez, would you shut up already? I can't concentrate with you going on in the background!

How rude! Now you've hurt my feelings, oh and such a tragedy too! I was just tryin' ta give ya some re-assurance and confidence before ya cut yer hand off!

[... SIGH. Stupid old man, stupid coconut, stupid cleaver ... ugh. Forget it, he'll find some other method. Using a cleaver in this way isn't any easier with someone being annoying in the background. It'd be fine if it were just a conversation, but guh. Dammit, Raven!

So, he sets the cleaver aside and looks around his immediate area for something else to use. Something less complicated ... hrm.

[He didn't expect the kid to put the cleaver down, he expected him to throw it at raven. Oh well, time to talk more because he knows Yuri loves listening to his manly voice.]

Huh? A cleaver would have probably done the job ya know, those things can slice through bone.

Yeah, I know. I just didn't feel like losing my hand because some annoying old man couldn't keep his mouth shut for a few minutes.

Oh, right! The counter-top corner looks sharp enough ... maybe if he used that to make a hole in it, he could split the rest of it open with the cleaver more easily! ... Well, in theory. It was worth a shot, anyway!]

[So yep. Taking the coconut, walking over to a corner-part of the counter, and slamming the two together.]

[Raven can't bear to watch him smash the coconut into the kitchen counter, he cringes as the two collide. Oh the brutality!]

I'm not hitting it hard enough to make something drastic happen.

[... Although it sure as hell sounds like he is, with how loud the sounds are.

After a good five strikes, though, Yuri stops and looks at the coconut itself. The counter corner looks like it got a little wet somehow, and it looks like something is leaking a little from the coconut itself.]

Huh. Did that crack it ...?

[Welp, bringing it over to where he left the cleaver. Time to go for round 3, except with the small hole he made helping out! Because the coconut also being kind of wet also is totally going to help! Yeah!]

Oh! That's the milk! You wanna drain that out into a bowl before ya continue, it's supposed ta taste nice and ya don't really wanna get soaked in the stuff when ya do get it open.

[Oh look at that, legit advice.]

[Oh wow. Was that legit advice? Yuri glances over his shoulder as if to confirm that Raven really did say something that wasn't annoying or a complaint before nodding once and grabbing a bowl.]

I'm not so sure I'll be able to drain it properly, but it's worth a shot.

[And he'll just ... stick the coconut on the bowl. On it, since it doesn't actually fit in there. It does seem like the milk is draining from it though!

It's gonna take forever ta drain at this rate. Stay here.

[No good at all. He'll go and retreat back into his bedroom to fetch something. If the kid smashes that coconut open it's still gonna splatter everywhere and he doesn't want to clean two of them up.]

[He returns with an arrow in hand and approaches the coconut. He picks it up and stabs the arrow into the small hole. As he pulls it back out the hole is slightly bigger, enough to drain it out properly at least.

His face is really angry. He's starting to hate these.]
