[Raven is sitting in a tree outside house 12, bow in hand. Around his neck is a very warm looking scarf, given to him by Miyabi. Despite the fact he's complaining, it doesn't seem as though he actually cares, he's just doing it because he can. OOC: Also all other threads would take place before Yuri and Vash.]

I'm startin' ta feel real sorry for all those new feathers, showin' up in weather like this. Ya must be absolutely insane if ya think this snow is fun, or even pretty! I hate snow, snowmen, snowballs, snowstorms, igloos, icicles, ice cubes, ice cream, all of it! Urgh...

Please tell me it's gonna start gettin' warmer soon. I don't know how much more of the cold this old man can take.

[I didn't say he was fighting in it, he just wanted to look pimpin' when you showed up. Plus it also means he's been through your stuff again. Anyway, he puts it ontop of one of the training dummies and readies his bow.]

I did give ya warnin'! I told you I was gonna challenge ya!

[Oh geez that's right-- ... n-not going to let that distract him, though. He'll just ream him for it during the spar, that's all.]

I meant more warning than "let's do this now!", but whatever. [And he's already getting himself into position to start this whole thing. Not only because it's been a while since he sparred someone but also DAMMIT RAVEN STOP GOING THROUGH HIS STUFF oh boy are you going to get it this time D|]

[I saw some nasty things in your room man, some nasty things.]

But then there's no element of surprise! [He waves the named arrow around before quickly firing it towards Yuri.]

[Not anymore -- Estelle cleaned it and he hasn't really had the time to let it go to hell again :(

Regardless, he's not about to stand there and get hit, so he quickly dodges to the left, sending out an Azure Edge shortly afterward.]

If you wanted to surprise me, you shouldn't have told me about this to start with!

Raven jumps back onto the target to avoid that. Readying another arrow.]

I've got some surprises fer this too.

[~~Oh god no way~~ Yuri's not psychic, nor can he see exactly what Raven's up to, but he can easily tell he's not using both hands to keep his sword in place, and that ... well. His right arm is moving. Given how unpredictable the old man can get, that could mean anything -- but it likely means he may be reaching for his secondary weapon.

So, in his usual reckless nature, Yuri is going to shove his blade forward in an attempt to at least throw Raven off a little. Probably not the wisest of moves, but that's just how he rolls.]

[The shove makes a difference, but Raven quickly pulls the knife out and slashes towards Yuri's stomach.]

But then they won't be any fun now will they?!

[Yuri doesn't have much time to react to that, but makes an attempt to get out of the way by jumping back anyway, in an attempt to minimize the potential damage. That ends with a neat little cut through his shirt, and a small red line to go with it.

He doesn't look phased by it though. In fact, he looks like he could care less.]

That's your problem!

[Unless Raven makes a move first, he'll be closing the gap once more with some heavy sword swings.]

Heh, so I ended up drawin' the first blood after all.

[RUNNING AWAY LIKE A BITCH, this is a bow man, if he had his sword then maybe so, but there's no way it could parry those swings.]

You just got lucky.

[CHASING LIKE A ... NOT A BITCH. For a few moments, anyway. Then he's pulling out a Destruction Field -- he came to fight, man, not play Track and Field.]

[I don't even know what that is :D! Seeing Yuri approach with a destruction field, he pushes one of the targets in the way to act a kinda crappy sheild since he'll still get hit by the "field" part. Even though it knocks him back slightly, he fires another arrow towards Yuri.]

[Racing, basically |D; BUT YES! Given the amount of time it takes for Yuri to regain his stance after using an arte like that, he doesn't have much time to get out of the way of that arrow. However, a speedy dodge to the right does get him away from it! ...

... but it still traces a nice, thin red line along his left arm as he does so. Not as thin as the one on his torso at the moment, but he won't be bleeding out from it any time soon either. Welp.

Back to trying to close the gap with heavy sword swings again. ... After getting around this target, obviously.]

If ya keep rushin' at me, yer not gonna do anythin'! You should know how I fight!

[He jumps over Yuri, hoping to hit him from behind with a sharp blow from the sword again.]

And you should know how I fight!

[Because keeping a gap the whole time won't do much for him. Regardless, seeing Raven jump like that makes Yuri immediately whip around to defend, albeit sloppily and forcing him to take a step or two back.

It's quickly retaliated against with a strong, horizontal swing -- or at least, as quickly as he can manage it in such a hurried state.]

[He didn't expect Yuri to be able to defend that so quickly. The blade makes contact with his own, sending Raven flying backwards. He pulls himself together, holding his shoulder as he looks towards where Yuri is standing. There's an obvious wound there as the blood drips through his fingers.]

Heh. Yer not as slow as I thought.

[Oh ... maybe he should've dashed forward instead. He certainly wasn't intending to get him hit that hard.

Regardless, he backs up a little, still keeping his blade up and ready. Even if that obvious wound of Raven's is worrying him a fair bit, he's still going to try keeping up an air of not caring via his usual "say a lot of words and distract them and maybe they won't notice" technique.]

And you're not the challenge you were claiming to be. Is this all you've got?

[Time to move away now, because the last time Raven was here, he was pulling out artes he'd never seen before -- so he's got no idea what could be coming his way, and certainly isn't about to stand around to find out.]

[You know what sucks about not being Rita, I just can't shout blah blah blah and have it over and done with. Fortunately for Yuri, Raven isn't pulling new artes out of his ass today, instead he's using inverno. The lovely one he used to freeze Zagi before.]
