[Raven is sitting in a tree outside house 12, bow in hand. Around his neck is a very warm looking scarf, given to him by Miyabi. Despite the fact he's complaining, it doesn't seem as though he actually cares, he's just doing it because he can. OOC: Also all other threads would take place before Yuri and Vash.]

I'm startin' ta feel real sorry for all those new feathers, showin' up in weather like this. Ya must be absolutely insane if ya think this snow is fun, or even pretty! I hate snow, snowmen, snowballs, snowstorms, igloos, icicles, ice cubes, ice cream, all of it! Urgh...

Please tell me it's gonna start gettin' warmer soon. I don't know how much more of the cold this old man can take.

[He did not see that comming at all, the kick makes him lose his balance as well, making him stumble backwards. But at least he's injured Yuri's leg, so he points an arrow towards Yuri. Though it's noticeable that he's not pulling the string properly, that arrow is going to miss when he fires it.]

[Yeah, while Yuri isn't an archery expert, he's seen Raven draw his bow enough times to know he's doing it wrong right now, and that it's not going to fly -- or at least, fly right.

So he doesn't make a move, staring the old man down instead -- and slowly forcing himself to stand again when the arrow does not do what it's supposed to (aka /hit/).]

[Ah fuck, he had hoped it would've been alright, all these years using a bow he was sure he had enough strength to pull the string.

If Yuri wants a staredown that's what he's gonna get.]

[STAREDOWN TIME .........

For a few seconds. Then he's going to smirk.

And try using Crushing Eagle again.]

[That smirk is not a good smirk, he goes to jump back but it's too late, he gets hit harshly by the edge of that attack, knocking him to the ground. And landing on that injured shoulder while we're here, why not I'm a masochist.]

[Oh ow, that had to hurt.

... But he's not stopping there, as he walks over to where Raven fell over, pointing his sword down at him.]

[Fine, you act all pimp, Raven's left arm still works fine. He whacks the sword away.]

Don't patronize me.

[He'll shrug, moving his sword away.]

I just wanted to make sure you didn't have any other "tricks up your sleeve".

Then yer lookin' at the wrong sleeve.

[He throws his knife from his right hand with everything he has left. That arm is out of commission now, but he might just stab the kid in the process.]

[Be glad his first instinct was to do a sloppy side-step and not swing his sword, Raven -- or you'd be missing a hand. That knife does manage to make a neat little cut on his side in the process of his getting-out-of-the-way tactics, but nothing startling.

... After that?

Swords getting pointed down at you again, Raven. You deserve it this time, for throwing that knife at him.]

[There's one thing Raven can do while stuck on the ground, and that's cast a spell. It's only a basic wind blade, but he's trying to get you to back off.]

[... Mrrr. Yuri's all cut up from everything else, so even a Wind Blade spell would probably hit him harder than he'd like. So, with a short, annoyed sigh, he moves his sword away and backs off.

... Not as quickly as he'd like, but he does.]

[Raven doesn't move, he continues lying there with his hand now on his shoulder.]

Respect works both ways. I don't want ya to go easy on me in this fight, by doing so yer making a mockery of the reason we're fighting in the first place. There's a difference between showin' mercy and being condescending! If you're going to win, then win!

If you don't knock me out first, then I'll knock you out instead!

You don't have to knock someone out in order to beat them.

[... He shrugs, readying his sword again.]

... But if you insist.

[He gets himself ready to use a Destruction Field arte. If Raven has anything to say to that, he'd better make it quick.]

[My legs still work, he's getting the hell off the floor and away from that. Even if he has to barrel roll in the process.]

There's also a difference between knockin' someone out and killin' them!

You would've lived. [Shrugging, and keeping himself at the ready. You told him to knock you out if he didn't want to get knocked out himself, old man, so that's what he's gonna do.

Same as before -- he readies himself to use yet another Azure Edge.]

[Jumping back on top of one of the targets. Ground attacks aren't gonna do shit when he's in a high up place. Though, he can't do anything either.]

[Really, Raven. Really.

Oh well.

He'll just send the Azure Edge at the target itself. ~~After contemplating just throwing his sword at you but deciding that that may not work as well as he'd like~~.]

[Yeah, well... you look like a girl.

Raven didn't initially realize he was standing on top of a target, of all things, so when the Azure Edge hits it comes as a stupid surprise. Raven is knocked off the target, falling backwards into a pile of training dummies.]

[Well ... shut up.

Anyway, after Raven falls over, Yuri ... waits. Mostly to see if there's movement of any kind over where the old man is. No point in approaching and walking straight into a trap or something when he can't run too well at the moment, right?]

[There's a rustling noise, and movement, but he's still kind of buried.

Waiting is boring. He's slowly starting to approach, keeping an eye on the area Raven fell in for any suspicious movements. And even as he makes his way over, there's no way he's getting too close just yet.]

[Rustle.
