[Raven is sitting in a tree outside house 12, bow in hand. Around his neck is a very warm looking scarf, given to him by Miyabi. Despite the fact he's complaining, it doesn't seem as though he actually cares, he's just doing it because he can. OOC: Also all other threads would take place before Yuri and Vash.]

I'm startin' ta feel real sorry for all those new feathers, showin' up in weather like this. Ya must be absolutely insane if ya think this snow is fun, or even pretty! I hate snow, snowmen, snowballs, snowstorms, igloos, icicles, ice cubes, ice cream, all of it! Urgh...

Please tell me it's gonna start gettin' warmer soon. I don't know how much more of the cold this old man can take.

[Because keeping a gap the whole time won't do much for him. Regardless, seeing Raven jump like that makes Yuri immediately whip around to defend, albeit sloppily and forcing him to take a step or two back.

It's quickly retaliated against with a strong, horizontal swing -- or at least, as quickly as he can manage it in such a hurried state.]

[He didn't expect Yuri to be able to defend that so quickly. The blade makes contact with his own, sending Raven flying backwards. He pulls himself together, holding his shoulder as he looks towards where Yuri is standing. There's an obvious wound there as the blood drips through his fingers.]

Heh. Yer not as slow as I thought.

[Oh ... maybe he should've dashed forward instead. He certainly wasn't intending to get him hit that hard.

Regardless, he backs up a little, still keeping his blade up and ready. Even if that obvious wound of Raven's is worrying him a fair bit, he's still going to try keeping up an air of not caring via his usual "say a lot of words and distract them and maybe they won't notice" technique.]

[Such as this awesome spell he's starting to cast right now.]

No matter how many you've got, you're gonna run out of them eventually!

[Time to move away now, because the last time Raven was here, he was pulling out artes he'd never seen before -- so he's got no idea what could be coming his way, and certainly isn't about to stand around to find out.]

[You know what sucks about not being Rita, I just can't shout blah blah blah and have it over and done with. Fortunately for Yuri, Raven isn't pulling new artes out of his ass today, instead he's using inverno. The lovely one he used to freeze Zagi before.]

[Oh geez, he recognizes that one. Thankfully, the few seconds that pass as the ground underneath him starts to freeze is enough to prevent him from being a centerpiece, but not enough to get him away as the spell manages to freeze one of his legs on the way out.

... The whole ice-exploding thing that happens afterward hurts quite a bit too, and sends him forward a few feet more than he would've liked, too. Excellent.

Unless Raven tries to take advantage of the small time block in which Yuri is too busy trying to correct his balance to be defending himself properly, Yuri will be sending an Azure Storm his way in retaliation.]

[Not wasting a single second after casting, Raven was already up on his feet charging towards Yuri. That nice little leg damage will come in handy for helping him to keep his distance, that Azure Storm, not so much. He jumps to dodge it, firing an arrow arte towards Yuri. You should know the one, it's called Falling Further, and it makes the ground raise up when it hits :)]

[Normally, Yuri could easily jump out of the way of that.

But having a still-numb leg? Yeah. Doesn't work so well.

Therefore? Taking that hit. TAKING IT LIKE A BOSS. Because it was either take it or attempt to jump back and end up having to spend a while stumbling around to correct his balance. The latter seemed too long for him. And sounded annoying.

He's getting up as soon as he can though. ... Albeit with some non-stamina related difficulty, but hey. He'll live. For now, he just prepares himself for whatever may be coming next -- he can't very well charge around until he gets full feeling back in his leg again, and keeping Raven back with long-distance artes would only put Yuri at even more of a disadvantage.]

Oh, come on! I expect more of a challenge than this!

[For added insult, Raven sits on top of one of the targets, not attacking, just admiring his handy work in injuring Yuri. Or rather, that's the impression he's trying to give. That right shoulder is bleeding quite badly and firing an arrow put more of a strain on it than he wanted to admit. He just needed a little time to recover whilst Yuri is distracted.]

[Enjoy your few seconds of recovery, because as futile as it might be to stay in one spot and spam this arte, he's doing it anyway.

Have another Azure Storm coming your way as soon as he's balanced properly, old man.]

[No, go away, that's very mean of you. Raven jumps and moves away from it. He can't fire his bow while his arm is hurting like this, and getting close to Yuri is suicide. There's no way his bow can hold up against a sword, it's not made for blocking.

So, time to try casting another spell instead.]

[Oh hell no, he can't move well enough to try outrunning another spell--

Azure Edge time.

Yes, again. He will spam this move forever if he has to. ~~Or at least until his TP runs out.~~

... He's also going to slowly try moving away. Feeling is gradually returning to his leg, and it's not the a good kind of feeling.]

[He has to cancel that casting to avoid the Azure Edge. This is a problem, he can't fire his bow effectively and he's not going to be able to cast again if Yuri keeps using that. He only has one choice, and that's to go close range, no matter how risky that is. If he can just injure Yuri's arm as well, then he'll be in the clear to win.

So, in he comes charging towards the kid.]

[Oh, he's charging at him now.

... Good. This should help him considerably. ... Well, at least it'll be more helpful to him than his previous situation.

Yuri awaits the incoming charge, waiting for Raven to come close enough ... so he could try pulling off a Crushing Eagle.]

[He's not going to give you the chance to take him down with fancy artes. The moment he gets close enough, he goes to use Just like Dancing.]

[Oh dammit--

DEFENDING. Since ... that's about all he can do in this position.]

[Yuri's defense blocks it, so whilst Yuri is still in the guard position, he takes a mean swipe towards his injured leg. It's all or nothing right now.]

[Is he going to try--

He totally is, isn't he. And there isn't much of anything he can do about that, either. If his leg weren't injured, he could just jump it, but--

Actually there isn't much he can do. The hit connects, and he hits the ground.

--... Oh, wait, that's right. Even if he's down, that doesn't mean he's about to lay there like a slug. So, have a shin-kick while he's down, Raven.]

[He did not see that comming at all, the kick makes him lose his balance as well, making him stumble backwards. But at least he's injured Yuri's leg, so he points an arrow towards Yuri. Though it's noticeable that he's not pulling the string properly, that arrow is going to miss when he fires it.]

[Yeah, while Yuri isn't an archery expert, he's seen Raven draw his bow enough times to know he's doing it wrong right now, and that it's not going to fly -- or at least, fly right.

So he doesn't make a move, staring the old man down instead -- and slowly forcing himself to stand again when the arrow does not do what it's supposed to (aka /hit/).]

[Ah fuck, he had hoped it would've been alright, all these years using a bow he was sure he had enough strength to pull the string.

If Yuri wants a staredown that's what he's gonna get.]

[STAREDOWN TIME .........

For a few seconds. Then he's going to smirk.

And try using Crushing Eagle again.]

[That smirk is not a good smirk, he goes to jump back but it's too late, he gets hit harshly by the edge of that attack, knocking him to the ground. And landing on that injured shoulder while we're here, why not I'm a masochist.]

[Oh ow, that had to hurt.

... But he's not stopping there, as he walks over to where Raven fell over, pointing his sword down at him.]
