My first time? I was drowned by an uberugly vamp calling himself the Master. I wasn't gone for long, thanks to the modern magic of CPR. [This death is the easiest for her to talk about.] But the whole thing was prophesied, so the freak-factor was way high.

No, this was back home. Six years ago--uhm, seven if you count the one I've been stuck here for.

And it's also pretty unnerving to have to worry about whether a friend's been murdered, or not. [She sighs; that was a little crass.

Better back pedal:] There's just been so much of it lately, y'know? Way too much on-purpose death. A girl can't help but wonder.

What a terrible world we live in if murder is the most common way ta die.

But no. I wasn't murdered, like Flynn said over the journals it was down ta natural causes!

[The sad truth is that Buffy has no reason to trust this Flynn guy. But she is glad to hear it from Raven's mouth.]

Look around. We're the captives of big time bad scientists. I think this definitely qualifies as a terrible world.

So much more of a cheer-up than Captain Sparrow's game of blindfold darts. [Which was sadly probably just an excuse to ogle her while she wasn't looking. She doesn't know this. Yet.]

[That caught him off guard, for a moment then he thought he heard you say Captain "somethingelse".] Sparrow is a terrible birds name. He should've chosen somethin' more classy!

[She blinks.] It's a last name. First name, Jack. Captain Jack Sparrow. But I already know another Captain Jack. It's mostly very confusing and I'm about this close to handing out nicknames.

Well--[hmm]--Sparrow's a pirate. He also seems to be perma-drunk and had a really weird affection for any foodstuffs I throw together. Which is kinda really bad since, me? Not a good chef. No where near your level, that's for sure.

Harkness is more of a mystery. [She shrugs.] Very charming. Time-travelling, too. Plus he's got an associate who's also a Captain. [Her face darkens.] Captain John Hart. Avoid him--he's a big time jerk.

[He pauses for a moment... a time-traveller and a permanently drunk pirate. Buffy, your social groups are starting to worry him.]

Buffy darlin', how many Captains do ya know?!

[You probably don't want to know about the second ex-vampire lover who seems to be stuck in the '80s. Or the antagonistic Kadaj. Or the other vampire hunter who seems to be a demon himself.]

Jim was a captain, too. Is a captain, since he's gone back home. [She pauses, looking thoughtful.] I think Riley was a lieutenant, though. Not a captain.

Well--[she smiles, guiltily]--I live with Jim's crew. So I'd better include Bones. He's a doctor and a something in Starfleet. I don't know his rank. Uhura's definitely a lieutenant. And Spock's acting captain.

[Hmm. Oh, Peony!] And an emperor. I know one of those, too.

Hmm I've run into a doctor and two Commandants. Geez ya think they'd team up together ta make some kinda gover- Actually no, that's a bad idea.

Raven. [She continues to smile.] If the titles really mattered, I'd be going around introducing myself as right off the bat as slaymaster general.
