Hey I got a little problem I could use some help with. There's this nice, little, teenage girl who's never read a book before, so I told her I'd get her one as a surprise gift. But uh, I'm drawin' up a blank. What kinda books do girls even read nowadays?

I strongly recommend books by an American author by the name of "Stephen King". Particularly those of his "Dark Tower" series.

Most of his works can be classified as "horror/thriller", yes, but "The Dark Tower" is decidedly different and difficult to classify. To put it in much more simple terms, it is an "epic".

There's always "The Stand". I recommend the unabridged version.

That would be the nature of the thing, yes.

I don't think that's true. Or at least that it's possible for a book to be "no good".

The folly would be on you for selecting the wrong book.

That is the origin of that phrase, yes.

Are you certain you weren't just reading it in the wrong direction?

...

Occidental languages are read from left to right, yes. Oriental languages are not. The books will reflect this.
