Momotaro? Hmm I think I've heard of that story with a similar name myself, never read it though.

[She smiles to the camera.]

It's a rather exciting story, many of the boys in Ponc'Tan liked it, though the girls did, too. If you want a story that's more specifically geared towards girls, then I highly suggest the story of The Rabbit in the Moon. It's a story of one of my gods, Yumigami, who can turn day into night with the crescent Skill. It's very sweet tale.

We actually hold festivals based around that story near this time~ For ourselves and for the Rabbit God. ♥ [And Miya's not about to tell him she'd be sending rabbit-looking mochi ~~usa-mochi!~~ to her friends and other people during that day.]

The rabbit god? Oh right you had a rat god as well didn't you? What other animals do you have as gods?

[Raven's attention span has temporarily forgotten about the book.]

Yes, the rat is Tachigami. [Oh, look at her smile! She's glad you're so interested in her culture and her gods, Raven. She loves to tell people about them, it was her job, after all. But what fun is simply telling you? He may see her draw a large, round circle on the page, then split it into thirteen sections. In the first, she writes some things in kanji, and paints a little rat in a box near the top.]

Tachigami is the rat god. Bakugami is the boar god, Amaterasu is the...well, she's supposed to be the dog, but is actually a wolf. That's kinda like a dog... Moegami is the rooster, the Hanagami are three monkey brothers, Kasugami is the sheep, Kazegami is the horse, Nuregami is the snake, Yomigami is the dragon, Yumigami the rabbit, Gekigami the tiger, Itegami the ox, and finally, Kabegami the cat.

[For each of the thirteen pieces of the circle, Miya drew the animal, their name, and their brush skill. It looked like a Chinese zodiac calender, only with the cat being last instead of the ox. That little bit of information she'd save for another time. The cat's tale was a story in and of itself. Perhaps you could suggest that to Xion as well?]

So judgin' from your gods, somethin' tells me you don't have human beings in your world do you? Though that's a whole different subject I don't feel gettin' into today. Askin' what exists and what doesn't... it's one of those never ending conversations I seem ta be havin' alot lately.

Those names sounds kinda strange though.

Oh, no! Of course we have people, silly! Who would we show out paintings to, and try to instill faith into if there weren't any?! [Miya just laughs, smiling brightly.] The gods wouldn't exist without people, and people wouldn't exist without the gods! All is bound into a tightly woven mesh, each thread supporting the other to create balance.

Hm... the names are kind of confusing to learn, since many of them sound similar. I'd often confuse Yumigami and Yomigami and Ishaku would get really, really mad at me, heh heh...

Oh right ya said you could speak to the gods in yer world. Think she'd like something on animals like yer gods?

[One tracked mind today really.]

[Miya blinks, staring at her friend.] Hmm... M-Maybe. Only Envoys can converse with the gods, though. I-I think. I've never seen a god other than Mother Amaterasu, and I still can't completely see the godly markings and divine instrument she wields.

But, if there are scrolls about the gods here, then that'd be truly wonderful! She'd be learning things as well as enjoying the stories. Th-That'd make me happy, too! ♥♥

Ya should write a scroll about this yourself, it'd be interestin' to read sometime I'm sure there's lots of people out there who'd like to know the story!

You mentioned a wolf one, wouldn't happen to be red and white would it? I think I may have caught a glimpse of that one runnin' round.

O-Oh... I couldn't. I'm not a very good storyteller. And I don't know all there is to know about that gods. That would be my teacher back home. Perhaps I could make a picture book? Even if I'm not very good at painting all the gods. [She beams, and would have hopped, but she has her journal in her lap. Instead, she just claps her hands together.] Oh, you really think so!? Th-Then I'll try to do my best to show them with my art! ♥

Oh really? I guess I should stop by and say hi the next time I see her then. I just thought she was a monster.

[Squeaks, then looks determined, balling her little fists] Y-Yes! You're absolutely right. I just have to keep trying!

Neh!? Mister Raven, h-how could you! Ammy doesn't look a thing like a monster! She's beautiful and graceful and perhaps the most benevolent and kind wolf around! That's so mean to say - now you must apologize to her. I know she likes food offerings, so be sure to take her something the next time you see her and be sure to bow when you do!

Calm down! All right, next time I spot her runnin' around I'll go up and apologise for thinkin' she was a monster with an offer of some kinda food. How does that sound?

Good, very good. I think she eats just about anything, so whatever you give her will be fine. [Ammy's mouth is a black hole, Raven. Be careful she doesn't suck you in, too.] She might lick you, too, so be aware of that~ ♥ And she loves to be petted!

Does she now? I think I might see if Repede would like ta come along and meet her, could be the start of somethin' beautiful right there.

Repede, his Yuri's dog. He's on pretty good terms with Flynn too.

[Sorry, Miya's not been here long enough to know of these people. So have some more head tilting and confused looks.]

Are those friends of yours? Yuri and this uh...Flynn. [Raven may or may not notice the lilt in the ponclet's voice when she says the first name. It's her native tongue, after all. Oh, but wait.]

Oh, a doggy~? He... He doesn't bite, does he? Or he won't try to gobble me up if I try to pet him, right...?

Ah, friendship with a great backing is the best kind! It must be a very strong bond they have if they were both pulled to this place~ ♥

Oh, well... Then, that's good. I'd hate to be covered in dog spit. I'll make sure to give him a good scratch behind the ears when I ever see him.

I don't think he's too keen on bein' petted, might wanna stick to givin' him food or somethin' first. Your not a human though so he might act differently. Honestly, I don't have a clue.

Remind me not to go makin' friends with people who have a habit of gettin' pulled into other worlds then.

Aww...but feeding him is fine for me! I do hope he likes me enough to let me pet him one day, though~ Does he not like humans? He seems like a really picky doggy, hehe~ [No, Miya's not picturing some cute little fluffer, why do you ask?]

Hehe, that sounds kind of like Amaterasu~ Her and my friend, Issun, were very close. At least I think so...they were together and headed somewhere fairly dangerous before I was taken here. I hope he's okay.
