[Raven blows onto the journal, then wipes it with his hand, flicking through the pages to find out when the last time he bothered to make an entry with it was. He sighs, has it really been that long? Even thinking about how long he's been in Luceti for any extended period of time is depressing enough for him.]

If I didn't know any better I'd say this thing was startin' ta gather dust.

For those that hadn't noticed yet, Estelle was sent back home a few days ago. I don't know when exactly, but all her things are gone
[He pauses for a moment. House 12 is really quiet now compared to how it used to be. Of course he cared about the princess, he cared about everyone from their world, he's just finding it weird to see them all going home after so long whilst leaving him behind.]

Anyway! She used ta work in the library here and left some stuff regardin' it behind, or ta be more specific, she left a set of instructions on how ta sort the books as well as a set of keys. From the look of it I guess she wanted someone to take the care of the place if she ever got sent home, and considerin' she was working there long before I showed up then it must've meant a lot to her. I can pass the stuff over to anyone who's interested, just let me know! It's not gonna go anywhere by itself.

Oh, and if this old man's memory isn't failin' him again, which it does a lot, she also had a book club goin'. Books aren't really my thing though, if someone wants to start that up again then feel free. 

That's about it! I got nothin' else worth sayin', wake me up when it's hot enough for the women to break out the swimsuits.

[ buffy proceeds to open the bottle of wine like this. only, instead of a shoe, she uses her not inconsiderable slayer strength to deliver a few sharp raps against the bottle's base with the flat of her hand. it's all very charming and impressive and if she were at work in the bar right now -- and if luceti had an economy -- she would be rolling in tips.

she pours him a glass before splashing barely a fingerful for herself. ]

Oh? What -- do you have a secret stir-fry recipe?

[Well, he can officially say he's never seen someone open a bottle of wine that way before. He's surprised it doesn't fizz up and overflow out of the top.]

Impressive! I see why ya work at the bar now.

And no, I just cook 'em like everyone else does! Nothin' special about it!

I always end up with an over-seasoned stir-fry. Every time.

Have ya tried followin' a recipe book? Most seasoning are s'posed ta be added lightly towards the end.

...Recipes take so much patience.

Does that mean you were just makin' the stir fry up as you went along?

And that's why yer stir-fries suck! Do you at least taste test while you're cookin' it?

H-hey! I never said they sucked! [ they suck. ] I...try. I test! I taste!

It's just always the pepper that gets me.

Maybe one of these days I'll have ta teach you how ta make a nice stir-fry. You don't need ta put pepper in it, just a quick grind one-two and that should be enough! Unless ya mean those other peppers, the green and red things.

Between you and Derek, I might actually turn out to be an okay housewife one day.

I couldn't imagine you as a housewife, not even if I closed my eyes and tried really hard ta think about it!

What? You don't think I'm supremely marriable material?

I didn't say that! More like I can't see ya stuck at home all day doin' the cleaning and cookin'!

Oh, no. See. Jack's always the one who does the dish--

[ whoops. wait. that's a little...hmm. buffy frowns. ] Not that I'm considering or even thinking about or...so -- stir-fry?

[crisisrain]

[He laughs a little at that. He can't see Jack doing the dishes but he finds the thought to be amusing.]

All right, I'll let it slide.

Stir-fry's are pretty easy. Just pick what kind you have in mind before ya start cookin'. If you want spicy, then throw some chilli's in there! If you want sweet, then you can use stuff like pineapple or sweet peppers to make it!

[ she fidgets with a ring on her right hand. no biggie. just still...contemplating a proposal. that's all. ]

I do like pineapples.

[That's suspicious of you Buffy, he didn't even notice until you started messing with it.]

You like rings as well from the look of it.

I like being fashionable. Jewellery's part of it.

[ she gives in and holds out the hand -- it's a slim gold ring with a pale jade stone. simple, really. ] See? Matches my eyes.

[But he was talking about pineapple rings. /rimshot.

He honestly can't help but feel happy for her.]

It's beautiful! You're a very lucky lady indeed! Make sure he treats you right, ok?

N-no. It's not...

[ she frowns. ] It's not what you're thinking. I never...see, this is on this hand. It's kind of an Earth thing.

It was just a gift.

[ she's being mighty defensive. ]

[He tilts his head to one side.]

I don't get it. Does that mean you're not engaged?

I'd have to be wearing it on my left hand. To be engaged. I'm still very much unbetrothed. Seriously.

[He looks at her hands again. She's right, it's on her right hand...]

Sorry! I just thought... nevermind.

[herotypical]

I just...wouldn't be ready, y'know. And here of all places.

[ but it is an engagement ring. jack did ask her to marry him. she simply hasn't said yes yet. or no. ]
