[Raven is sitting on the grass in the back yard of House 12, looking at a large patch of fire lilies that have grown. He knew he must've planted them at some point in the past, because they had always reminded him of her. It was still strange to see so many growing in what was otherwise a relatively empty garden.]

Ya know, with Jack showin' up again so quickly, Old Raven has been thinkin'. If the me that was here before was pulled into Luceti from a point that's in my future, and I'm from his past, but I'm in Luceti's future... Then did he know all along what was gonna happen in Luceti, because he remembered it all from me? Or did he just arrive like the rest of the New Feathers tend to do? If that's the case, then it means when I do go home, I'm goin' ta forget everyone I've met here... Oh! Maybe he was from some kinda alternate timeline, and I will remember stuff?

[He stops rambling, letting out a huge sigh.] I just realized that I'm sitting here by myself, talkin' to a bunch of flowers... I'm losin' it, really! I'm goin' insane, this is the proof! The flowers are telling me things! [And with that, he throws himself backwards, arms stretched wide as he laid down, staring up at the sky.]

Or maybe I'm just wonderin' what's going on back home. Gah! I'm not the type to be homesick! I need to do something! Anything!

[it's a good thing she had her back to him. the thought of wondering where she would have to stay now once again returned. of course she wouldn't mind moving to a completely new apartment, but she would still have to gather her things from her room. it would have to be done, but it wasn't going to be pleasant.

she's quiet for a moment before she speaks again.]

I spoke with the Commandant earlier.

[He had a feeling she might have done, he did tell her to and they do live together. But what he didn't expect was her to tell him.

He's hesitant about asking.]

[she decided to not say the part that he told her he had brought another person back to life with the blastia.]

I honestly couldn't believe it first, and I still find it hard to.

[That's ok, he already knew pre-Yeager battle.]

You're not the only one who has trouble believing it, even I still do.

I know there is no use thinking about it, but I can't help but wonder if things would have happened differently if we had never died in the first place.

I try not to think about that. There was no way either of us could have survived... [He pauses. She doesn't know this yet, none of it has happened for her. He shouldn't be telling her things like that.]

[shakes her head, finally turning a bit so she could actually look at him.]

Don't be. I'm the one who brought this all up.

[He sighs, looking away from her. AWKWARD MOMENT.]

Raven, I already know I will die. Nothing will change that, and nothing you say will make it worse. [as unfortunate and sad of a thought that is.

small sigh.]

I could at least give you some hope! Instead of just sayin' that ya don't even have a chance.

Who knows... from what I've seen in this place? Time doesn't have ta run the same way back home. I met someone nobody else from our world has ever heard of, but she traveled with us where I'm from.

[blinks.]

I'm tellin' you that the future doesn't have ta be set in stone!

[and there's a bit of a stare before she kind of. turns a little away and laughs.]

[slight shake of her head.]

It's a sweet thought, Raven, and it would be nice.

Well, if you're so clever why don't you explain why things happened differently fer me than it did for everyone else I know?

I wasn't denying it could happen. Just that although I could have some hope for that kind of future, I've also accepted what will most likely happen. I won't know until I return home, regardless, so there's no need to dwell on it.

What is important is the present.
