[Raven is sitting on the grass in the back yard of House 12, looking at a large patch of fire lilies that have grown. He knew he must've planted them at some point in the past, because they had always reminded him of her. It was still strange to see so many growing in what was otherwise a relatively empty garden.]

Ya know, with Jack showin' up again so quickly, Old Raven has been thinkin'. If the me that was here before was pulled into Luceti from a point that's in my future, and I'm from his past, but I'm in Luceti's future... Then did he know all along what was gonna happen in Luceti, because he remembered it all from me? Or did he just arrive like the rest of the New Feathers tend to do? If that's the case, then it means when I do go home, I'm goin' ta forget everyone I've met here... Oh! Maybe he was from some kinda alternate timeline, and I will remember stuff?

[He stops rambling, letting out a huge sigh.] I just realized that I'm sitting here by myself, talkin' to a bunch of flowers... I'm losin' it, really! I'm goin' insane, this is the proof! The flowers are telling me things! [And with that, he throws himself backwards, arms stretched wide as he laid down, staring up at the sky.]

Or maybe I'm just wonderin' what's going on back home. Gah! I'm not the type to be homesick! I need to do something! Anything!

Luceti's always got some way of keepin' us on our toes. Whether it's flowers, or wars.

Yes, there's always something happening here, isn't there? [She misses the bit about "wars" entirely--unpleasant ideas rarely make an impression on Grune.]

Oh yeah, that's right... those new feathers are arrivin' right now too, aren't they? Huh, I almost forgot about that.

Have any of your friends come?

I'm lucky! Most of my friends are here in Luceti already, I wouldn't wish this place on the rest of 'em.

It must be nice to have all your friends together. [She isn't so lucky…but she'll be getting luckier quite soon!]

Of course it's nice, but it's also bad that they've gotta suffer here too. Wouldn't ya agree?

...Suffering? [She looks puzzled at that.] But Luceti is such a peaceful place.

Ya can't say you haven't noticed the drafts, or the experiments...

[She sort of pauses for a moment.] ...Oh, yes, but it's important to protect the village.

[And she's more likely to look at the experiments as being a game, anyway.]

But how are we supposed ta protect the village, when we don't even know what's going ta happen next, or even when somethin' is gonna happen? [He sighs.]

Yeah, you're right there. I guess I'm just thinkin' too hard again. It's difficult when nothin' seems ta make much sense.

Oh, no, I think about a lot of things.

Hmm.... I think about my friends and what makes them happy, and I think about my garden and what kinds of flowers to plant. Oh, and I think about learning to bake all kinds of delicious food!

You think about such... normal things. It's hard ta find that kind of simplicity, everyone is always moanin' about somethin' that goes over my head. I take it yer one of those people who just lives with what's going on then?

Nope. But I kinda wish I could. Must be a lot easier when ya don't have so many things ta worry about all the time?

[action] Just made my CR post, and Grune actually considers Raven a friend, so he's there! XD;

[She nods.] Worrying only makes you sad. It's better not to, so you can be happy with your friends.

Oh, don't get me wrong I do try! But sometimes they can be such downers!

[action] Heheh, no worries. Grune makes friends REALLY fast, so no need to mutually add here.

Oh, my, are your friends sad very often?

Not all the time, no. But ya know what kids are like, one day they're on top of the world, the next they're wonderin' where it all went wrong. They pull themselves together in the end, just takes 'em a while ta get there.
