[Since the last event Raven has spent the entire time locked away in his room sleeping it off. Now however he feels as though that wasn't he wisest thing to do. So he's currently in the Barracks borrowing one of their standard wooden bows and practising hitting the targets. He doesn't seem to be doing very well though, he's broken a few window panes and even managed to hit himself with his own arrow. It'd be a wise idea to not stand anywhere near him, especially in front, he's not having a very good day.]

Well he doomed the entire world so yeah, he deserves it.

That's quite a feat. How did he manage?

Well the long story short is that he got a barrier and a weapon mixed up while trying to wipe out the Empire.

The empire? Barriers?

[crisisrain]

The folks in charge and the shields that protect the towns from monsters. 'Cept that particular barrier was protectin' the whole world from a catastrophe.

Your world has only one empire? That's interesting.

[crisisrain]

Well there's the Empire and Guilds. The guilds consist of a few hundred different ones each with their own laws, the Empire is just one big one with a single set of laws.

Guilds aren't countries, though, so they must exist within the Empire.

[crisisrain]

No they're separate from the Empire entirely. They consist of the people who turned their backs on the Empire to begin with.

How can you turn your back on a country? And more importantly, what sort of country would let you?

[crisisrain]

Beats me, the guilds were around long before I was ever born.

[latkje]

It's just an interesting system, isn't it? So different from what I'm used to. Do you need to be born into a guild, or can anyone join?

Ya usually join a guild, but families formed in guilds become members automatically I guess.

Really? So then, anyone can join?

[crisisrain]

Yup! But by doin' so ya have to turn yer back on the Empire, which means the Knights get a little unfriendly and ya ain't too welcome in the capitol.

I'm assuming the knights are the peacekeeping forces of this empire.

[crisisrain]

Pretty much. They do try though, give 'em credit.

Like I said before, I'm not here to judge.

It's not really judgin', it's more of 'havin' yer own opinion'.

Well, what sort of person would I be, if I got set in my opinions without seeing this stuff for myself?

Didn't say ya have to be set on those opinions! Opinions can always change over time.

Can they? Talking to some people, you wouldn't know.

[crisisrain]

Ya can always change someone's opinion, it just takes a lot of effort ta do so.

I've met some pretty stubborn people, in my time.
