Hey I got a little problem I could use some help with. There's this nice, little, teenage girl who's never read a book before, so I told her I'd get her one as a surprise gift. But uh, I'm drawin' up a blank. What kinda books do girls even read nowadays?

She's a girl named Xion who arrived here 'round the same time I came back.

... Huh. So she's never read a book, either ... [Geez. Didn't know what school was, never read a book ... what the heck happened to that girl? He'll wonder about that some other time, though.] Well, I'm the last person who could give a good suggestion in that case. I'm sure Estelle will chime in with a list sooner or later, though.

I was hopin' the princess would stop by and give me some advice. I'm not even sure where to find a book in this place... been kinda avoidin' going outside when it snows.

Guessin' you've run into Xion too. According to what she said, it was her first birthday a few days ago.

I think it's just the library, but I wouldn't really know.

And yeah, I have. I didn't hear anything about her birthday passing, though -- guess I don't pay as much attention to these journals as I used to.

Heh I really can't blame you. Though I figured with yer amazing ability to understand that pup of yours, you'd be able to at least make out what some of the people who were forced to sound like a dog were sayin'.

Really? That's a shame, I'm just hopin' no kids saw what some of them were drawing.

All right I won't tell ya if you don't wanna know. They seem to have to stopped doin' it now. It had somethin' to do with that portal a few days ago.

Figures. [sighing a little] Well, the effects from that thing don't sound any worse than most of the experiments we've been put through here. They're pretty lucky it didn't last as long as they tend to.

I doubt that. Some of those people really believed it was a gate home after all. They'll be upset about findin' themselves back here for quite some time.

... [He's quiet for a moment or two on that note, mostly to keep himself from blurting out something unfair out of sudden frustration. So he'll just come out with--] I guess you've got a point there.

Well it's true after all. I met a kid who seemed heartbroken by the whole trap.

[[OOC: ffff I'll just summarize it quick here XD; It's mostly since he came into Luceti just before the whole business with all the NPCs it has came up -- before stuff was known about the Malnosso and the world itself. Back then, he was all gung-ho about either breaking down the barrier and getting everyone home, or finding an "exit" somewhere -- kinda like the portal. ... Except when it came to that "sudden frustration", he was thinking less about how he felt when he found out how things really were and more of how the other people who thought the same felt back then, but yeah XD; That's basically it! /tl;dr]]

I'm sure there's a whole collection of them out there. [Although, there is one he knows of who's likely taking it to a higher level of heartbreak.] But I guess some might be taking it a lot harder than others.

If ya do know someone who's takin' it harder than everyone else, it wouldn't be a bad idea to give them a visit. I know your not one for cheerin' people up, but I'm sure they could do with seein' a familiar face.
